The Utilization of fermented cassava leaf as a source of protein in cattle

An experiment was conducted to compare the utilization of soybean flake (Ration 1), unfermented cassava leave meals (Ration 2) and fermented cassava leave meals (Ration 3) in ration of Ongole cross cattle. Twenty seven mature male cattle with the average body weight of 275 + 22 kg were used. They were divided into three groups, each group received one of the experimental ration provided. The experiment lasted for 150 days, comprised of 60 days preliminary period and 90 days measurement period. Data collected including body weight change, feed intake and digestibility of the ration. It was found that the dry matter and organic matter intake of Ration 3 by the cattle were lower (P0,05) compared to Ration 1, but the intake of Ration 2 was higher (P0,05) than the other two rations. The digestibility of Ration 3 was higher (P0,01) compared to the other two rations. However the average daily body weight gain of the group received Ration 3 was lower than the other two groups

Telah dilaksanakan perbandingan antara penggunaan bungkil kedelai (Ransum 1) terhadap daun singkong biasa (Ransum 2) dan daun singkong fermentasi (Ransum 3) di dalam ransum sapi Peranakan Ongole (PO). Digunakan sebanyak 27 ekor sapi PO jantan dewasa dengan rata-rata bobot badan 275 + 22 kg yang dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok sesuai dengan jumlah ransum yang dipersiapkan. Penelitian berlangsung selama 150 hari, terdiri dari 60 hari periode persiapan dan 90 hari periode pengamatan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi bobot badan, tingkat konsumsi dan kecernaan pakan. Tingkat konsumsi bahan kering (BK) dan bahan organik (BO) Ransum 3 oleh sapi lebih rendah (P0,05) daripada Ransum 1, namun tingkat konsumsi Ransum 2 lebih tinggi (P0,05) daripada kedua jenis ransum lainnya. Tingkat kecernaan pakan, baik kecernaan BK maupun BO lebih tinggi (P0,01) pada kelompok sapi yang diberikan Ransum 3, namun angka pertambahan bobot badan (PBB) harian kelompok sapi tersebut lebih rendah (P0,05) daripada kelompok sapi yang diberi Ransum 1 dan Ransum 2
