Analysis report I: Farm management survey of the Kavango region, Namibia: November 1995 to June 1996
1997
This is the first farm management survey conducted in Namibia and covered 6 villages in the Kavango region of northern Namibia: Nzinze, Koro, Nkata, Ndiyona, Myl 20 and Sikarasompo. The purpose of the Farm Management Survey (FMS) is to provide quantitative data of farming units in the northern communal areas. A detailed data set has been accumulated on farm household resource allocation and utilisation over the 1995/1996 crop production season (i.e. November 1995 - June 1996) in these villages. This specific report provides a comprehensive analysis of the data, mainly through charts, tables and explanatory text. The report consists of 6 parts, apart from an introduction and a list of tables, charts and a map. The 6 parts are: village and household characteristics, household non-crop welfare status, crop production, per hectare crop inputs and output, relationships between household characteristics, production capacity and performance and farm-household models.
