Carotenoid pigment is ubiquitously found in nature and has the highest vitamin-A content. About 1/3 of Beta-carotene were absorbed on metabolism and converted into retinol. Microalgae is a single cell plant processing a high Beta-carotene content including Scenedesmus sp. In this experiment Scenedesmus was cultured in media containing commercial fertilizer (Urea and TSP) and hormone. Results indicated that the addition of gandasil D increased the beta-carotene (15.3 percent) and the addition of gandasil B increased the Beta-carotene content of 21.8 percent as compared with control
