إنجليزي. In Brazil researches on silviculture started at the beginning of 20th century, the initial technical and scientific studies concerning Eucalypts in Brazil started in 1904. From 1960 the research on Eucapypts had consolidated and expended, and in 1964 the Forestry Institute of Sao Paulo established an intensive programme of superior trees selection. Nowadays Brazil has very valuable genetic property for genus Eucalyptus and many genetic improvement programmes over 30 years old
