Concheyro, S.C. | Carson, M.J. | Garrick, D.J. | Jefferson, P.A.
A single pair mating design of P. radiata parents, which had been selected for growth and form, was cloned by fascicle cuttings and a trial established on two contrasting sites in New Zealand's North Island. Analysis at age 4,7 and 10 indicated a high non-additive variance component for diameter at breast height. Gains can be obtained by selecting at an early age, but the level of gain increased when selection was carried out at the age of last assessment (10 years)
