Metabolic causes of the syndrome of exercise intolerance can be defined as factors based on cellular functions including also energetic balance, and leading to fatigue of various severity. Also involved are acidobasic, electrolyte, endocrine and thermoregulatory factors. Many causes of metabolic disorders induce muscular damage (rhabdomyolysis), because there exists direct link between the activity of muscle cells and their production of energy (mechanic and thermal).
