Nesvadba, V. (Chmelarsky Inst., Zatec (Czech Republic)) | Vejl, P. | Skupinova, S.
At the Hop Research Institute in Zatec there was observed the parent influence on the transfer of the major agricultural traits of hop (Humulus lupulus) as cone aroma, cone density, alpha-bitter acid content including sex ratio on the posterity. Model crossing was carried out in 1997. Female plants (Wye Target, Yeoman, Hallertauer Magnum and Premiant) are of a bitter type. Male plants are from the genetic resources of Hop Research Institute in Zatec. In 1998 the first posterity evaluation was carried out. Posterity of Target variety had the best aroma of cones. Posterity of Premiant variety and a male plant of Osvald's clone 72 had the highest density of cones. Posterity of Yeoman and Hallertauer Magnum varieties had the highest alpha-bitter acid content.
