Sampling plans for the assessment of Salmonella contamination
1998
Hildebrandt, G. | Bohmer, L.
Divergent regulations can be found for the controlling of Salmonella in minced meat, which prescribe different sub-sample sizes at constant numbers of sub-samples. The parallel application of these plans provokes some basic thoughts about the attributive two-class plans with an acceptance number c=0. Since all these sub-samples may be pooled and gathered in the same pre-enrichment broth, the theoretical sensitivity of a sampling plan for the detection of Salmonellae dependsonly on the total size of sample, while the size of sub-samples seems to be insignificant. However, if the microorganisms or nests of bacteria are not randomly distributed but heterogenously, the total amount of sample should be divided into as many sub-units as possible.
