In this article, the economic/technical aspects of a portion of the products derived through forest labor are illuminated. It is true that highly-mechanized timber harvesting has also gained entry to Germany, but to be internationally competitive, machine implementation must be optimized. Essential objectives to strive for should be a significant increase in machine-operation time per year, considerably intensified labor productivity and an interlocking, total optimization right down the entire chain of operations. Reorganizing the framework of highly-mechanized timber harvesting is the central challenge of the upcoming years.
