Role of market information in functioning of family farms

The purpose of the study was to present the role of market information for functioning of family farms. Farmers' decisions concerning production were mainly affected by prices of agricultural products and selling possibilities. The basic sources of market information were TV programmes and publications of the Agricultural Advisory Centre in Wroclaw, as well as the information provided by daily newspapers and the radio. Farmers expect reliable market information including current prices of agricultural products and means of production as well as ready markets. Farmers sell their products and buy the means of production on local markets. For this reason, in their opinion they should have acces to local news. Farmers appreciate the role of market information
