Variability and interaction of seed yield structure components in two Polish cultivars of soybean as affected by a date, a technique of harvest and growing season

The interaction between soybean yield and a growing season was significant. The results indicated a positive relationship between plant density (a number of plants per square m) and seed yield, and between seed mass per pod and the mass of 1000 seeds. A negative relationship was noted between a number of pods per plant and a number of seeds per plant and plant density. The harvest technique - growing season interaction was significant. The dry years favoured a one-phase technique of harvest whereas during the wet seasons a two-phase technique was more effective. The optimum harvest dates were determined in September
