This work presents the results of three year research (1994 to 1996) of seven hull-less spring barley varieties grown in two different (cropping systems) and after two forecrops. The first cropping system was conventional, that means it included mineral fertilization 50 kg N, 55 kg P2O5 and 55 kg K2O in pure nutrients per hectare and pesticide treatment. The second cropping system was without chemical treatment. The variability of yield and its characters (the number of spikes per 1 m2 and on the plant, the number and weight of grains on the plant) was significantly highly influenced by trail factors: varieties and lines, cropping system and years. The genetic factor (varieties and lines) took part in the variability of yield and its characters from 2.8 to 27.4 %. Negative relation between the content of protein, the yield and also the number of spikes per 1 m2 at hulled and hull-less genotypes was not realized.
