Studies on calf suckling process parameters in aspect cow milking modern technique

Suckling process was studied in 61 calves. Selected features of the calves and dams were analysed statistically and their effects on suckling parameters (suction pressure, suckling time, number of sucks, quantity of consumed milk) were evaluated. Significant effects of lactation, dam breed characteristics and some features of the calf on suckling parameters were observed. Calf suckling dynamics including suckling phases were determined. A stochastic model of calf suckling was developed and computer simulation results were presented. The investigations showed the optimum values of pressure dynamics in the teat chambers of milking equipment
