[Acidification of precipitations, its development and influence on forest ecosystem]
1998
Martinek, J.
A systematic study of pH values of atmospheric precipitation and surface discharge has been carried out at the model watershed for four hydrological years. Weighted averages of sampled pH values of the atmospheric precipitation indicate upward trend of pH values, and therefore decrease of the stress on the ecosystem by atmospheric acids. Growth of the pH values in the surface stream output indicates this pheneomenon, too. Leaching of the toxic elements to the surface stream will be also reduced. However, recent pH values (pH = 4,3) have been significantly different from the theoretic ones (pH = 5,7).
