The development of resistance in the housefly (Musca domestica) to azamethiphos, dimethoate, pirimiphos-methyl, bendiocarb, permethrin, cypermethrin and deltamethrin was investigated on pig and sheep farms and in calf units over a 5-year period. The resistance was evaluated in three categories - low factor of resistence (FR5), moderate (FR40). Moderate resistance to azamethiphos and dimethoate was detected in 60% and 57% of all examinations, resp. In the case of pirimiphos-methyl, we detected that 49% of the examinations were in the low resistance category and 40% in the moderate one. High resistance to bendiocarb was observed in 80% of the samples examined while the same level of resistance to deltamethrin and cypermethrin was detected in 66% of samples. The resistance to permethrin ranged from low (29%) to moderate (49%).
