The effect of blunting of shares on energy demands of ploughing

The effect of blunting of shares of ploughing bodies on pulling resistance of plough and fuel consumption was measured. It is evident that specific consumption is changing with growing working speed according to parabolic dependence with minimum within range of speeds 1.5 to 1.6 m/s. With growing thickness of share edge specific ploughing resistance was recorded by 49.38 kPa to 58.75 kPa, what is 19 % increase. Specific power of plough was calculated from resistivity which amounted to 78.45 kW/m2 in ploughing with sharp shares and 94.47 kW/m2 with blunt shares what is 20.4 % increase.
