Preliminary results of motility characterization of native spermatozoa of common carp (Cyprinus carpio)

This contribution shows the indices characterizing motility of native spermatozoa of common carp (Cyprinus carpio), i.e. motility expressed as the percentage of motile spermatozoa and their velocity expressed in micro m.s/l. The following values were found for the native sperm: mean spermatozoa concentration 14.8.10E(9).ml/l; mean spermatozoa motility in 10 s after activation 84.35 %, in 30 s after activation 76.34 % and in 60 s after activation 42.26 %. Mean velocity of motility was 184.26 micro m.s/l in 10 s after activation, 70, 56 micro m.s/l in 30 s after activation and 29.56 micro m.s/l in 60 s after activation.
