Growth ability and carcass value of dairy kids of White Short-woolled goat and Cashmere goat

The objective of our study was to determine the growth ability and the carcass value of dairy male kids of White Short-woolled Goat (WSG) and Cashmere Goat (CG). The average daily gain during the milk nourishment period was significantly higher in WSG kids (0,234 kg) than in CG kids (0,116 kg). The average daily gain during the milk combined nourishment period was significantly higher in WSG kids (0,208 kg) than in CG kids (0,095 kg). The average daily gain from the birth to slaughter was also significantly higher in WSG kids (0,213 kg) than in CG kids (0,102 kg), while the average slaughter age in WSG kids was 58 days and in CG kids 82 days. The dressing percentage was significantly higher in WSG kids (48,26 %) than CG kids (44,06).
