Trials of downy mildew control on grapevine with new fungicides [Vitis vinifera L. - Piedmont]

The activity on Plasmopara viticola of the new active ingredients azoxystrobin, famoxadone, DPX-MP560, DPX-MP561, EXP 10623A, EXP 10741B and EXP 10846A was assessed in trials carried out in Piedmont vineyards during 1996 and 1997. The novel fungicides (applied alone or in tank mix or in alternation with other products) performed very well also in presence of a high disease pressure (100% of infected leaves and 70% of infected bunches in the untreated plots); a similar level of protection was obtained by the mixtures dimethomorph+mancozeb and phosethyl-Al+cymoxanil+mancozeb. Through the development of Uncinula necator on bunches, azoxystrobin showed its efficacy on both downy and powdery mildews

La pressante presenza della peronospora registrata nei vigneti piemontesi in questi ultimi anni ha consentito di saggiare , nelle condizioni ottimali per verificarne l'efficacia, i piu' recenti prodotti specifici, tra i quali azoxystrobin, famoxadone ed i siglati DPX-MP560, DPX-MP561, EXP 10623A, EXP 10741B ed EXP 10846A, impiegati da soli o, in qualche caso, abbinati ad altri fungicidi. I risultati ottenuti nel biennio 1996-97 sono stati eccellenti per tutti i principi attivi sperimentati, compresi i gia' ben noti dimethomorph+mancozeb e fosetyl-Al+cymoxanil+mancozeb, in presenza di attacchi di peronospora sul testimone pressoche' totali sulle foglie e fino al 70% sui grappoli. Nel caso particolare di azoxystrobin, si e' ottenuta la contemporanea protezione sia da peronospora, sia da oidio
