In recent years the aim of chemical weed control in cereals is to increase the efficacy of herbicides, especially against key weed species. On Poland the most important weeds are: Apera spica venti, Avena fatua, Galium aperine, Metricaria inodora, Anthemis arvensis, Veronica spp., Viola arvensis. Over 100 herbicides about 30 active ingredients are recommended in cereals in Poland. The use of premixes and tank-mix herbicides increased in recent years. In winter cereals the herbicides are used both in autumn and in spring depended on time of sowing and cultivated species
