Changes in the floristic composition and nitrogen concentration in meadow communities and soil under conditions of differentiated fertilization
1999
Niczyporuk, A. (Warsaw Agricultural University, (Poland). Dept. of Meadows Cultivation)
During the sixteen years of fielf study, different forms of nitrogen fertilizationn were used (though in fixed dosages) and their combinations. It was found that, in the fodder perspective, the most beneficial inter-specific proportions of plants and nitrogen utilization by plants occurred following the alternate system of fertilization (manure-NPK). In the post growing season the nitrogen originated from the mineral fertilizers (NP, NK, NPK) was mainly concentrated in the deeper layer of soil, predominantly in the 10-20 cm deep horizon, while that released from the manure was accumulated chiefly in the 0-10 cm deep superficial layer
