Evaluation of soil moisture in the Poznan province for the purpose of potato yield forecast

Using information obtained from site correspondents if IMGW on 9 sites, data from the years 1965-97 were gathered on frequency of periods of excessive, sufficient and insufficient soil moisture during April to October. The existing statistical relations between the agrometeorological conditions and the potato yield can serve as the basis for preliminary yield forecast: on the 20 and 31 July, sufficient - on 10 August, good - on 20 August and very good on the 31 August
