The Vistula River (Poland) is over 1000 km long and its drainage area comprises almost of 2/3 of Poland territory. Regulation of its lower course began in the 19th centuary. Fish were collected by electric fishing from both reaches. Cumulated samples from upper and lower sections of the investigated reaches showed fairly similar species composition in spite of different degrees of channel regulation
