There were performed preliminary probes on the usefulness of some Polish variety of triticale as alternative and not expensive raw material for beer, drink and bakery production. Variable proportions in use of barley malt and triticale malt caused the troubles with clarifying and filtration of the beer. Bigmolecular alpha and beta-glucanes and also protein-tannin sediments can be removed with the enzymatic methods and with silicate sols
