2001

Over 1998-2000 there was estimated the effect of living mulches on "Jupiter" pepper cultivar yielding. Greenhouse-raised seedlings were planted into the field on May, 28. Perennial ryegrass and white clover used as living mulches were sown between rows after 2, 5, 8 and 11 weeks off the pepper transplanting date. The yield of living mulch biomass depended significantly on the species and data of sowing. The first two sowing dates reduced the yield of pepper fruit significantly. The best results, similar to the control, were obtained for the sowing 8 weeks off the pepper planting date
