Effect of fertilization, soil reaction and soil nutrient availability on the cones yields of selected hop gardens
2000
Sugier, D. | Szewczuk, C. (University of Agriculture, Lublin (Poland). Dep. of Industrial and Medicinal Plants)
The effects of soil acidity, soil nutrient availability and fertilization on the cone yields from 24 hop gardens were investigated. The hop gardens in the Lublin region were located on three different soil units: medium-heavy alluvial soil, gray-brown podsolic (sandy-loam), and brown (from loess). The results show the necessity of higher fertilization with potassium especially on gray-brown podsolic and brown soils and decrease of phosphorus on the experimental hop gardens. Besides, fertilizers should be applied deeper in soil than is commonly practiced
