Correlation between progesterone and cortisol in young bulls put under stress for a short period

إنجليزي. [In order to verify the correlation between progesterone and cortisol level in young bulls subjected to capture stress, blood samples were taken from 12 animals at 0 and 30 min. At 0 min mean level of cortisol was 26 ng/ml and progesterone level was 0.06 ng/ml. At 30 min a significant increase of both parameters, 35.7 ng/ml for cortisol and 0.64 ng/ml for progesterone, was observed, as a confirmation of the stress due to capture and taking of first sample. The two parameters were significantly correlated (r = 0.79), showing an effective relation between a short length stress (30 min) and progesterone level]

Al fine di verificare la correlazione fra il tasso di progesterone e di cortisolo in vitelloni da carne soggetti a stress conseguente alla cattura, sono stati sottoposti a prelievo ematico 12 soggetti a 0 e 30 min. A 0 min il cortisolo risultava presente con un valore medio di 26 ng/ml ed il progesterone di 0,06 ng/ml. A 30 min si e' ottenuto un significativo incremento di entrambi i parametri, pari mediamente a 35,7 ng/ml per il cortisolo ed a 0,64 ng/ml per il progesterone, a conferma dello stress subito a seguito della cattura e del primo prelievo. I due parametri sono risultati significativamente correlati (r = 0,79), confermando quindi un'effettiva relazione fra uno stress di breve durata (30 min) e il tasso progestinico
