Decision support system in plant protection

The paper reviews the systems available for agricultural advisory services and farmers tested in Poland, including two original systems developed for winter wheat by researchers of the Plant Protection Institute and tomatoes grown in greenhouses by the team from the Vegetable Crops Research Institute and Warsaw Agricultural University. The concepts of "profitability" and "risk" in the decision-support systems as initiated by Rossing (1993) for EPIPRE are considered as new challenges for researchers developing advanced decision support systems
