Consumers have been influenced by a number of matters and worries connected with quality food, thus they search more carefully the origin of the food they consume and are sometimes willing to pay higher prices in order to enjoy higher levels of trust in relation with the quality of their food. The specific work constitutes a simple description of the efforts undertaken by a small Greek pork meat-processing firm to find its way in the heavily volatile modern economic environment. Its basic orientation to produce organic pork meat products with vertically integrated process from animals of outdoor pig breeding (free-range breeding) seems to be a pioneering effort in an area, which is in its infancy in terms of research and practice in Greece. The present study is interesting because of the timely effort of the specific company to be subsumed in the modern marketing designs. Its praiseworthy effort coincides in time with the issue of the EEC 1804/99 regulation about organic livestock, a coincidence that makes it even more crucial. Again, it has to be stressed that the present is simply a descriptive work and suggestions should be criticised from that point of view
