In an exact meadow experiment, done in the Agricultural Experimental Station at Pawlowice in 1995-97, the usefulness of the sod seeding method as applied for restoration of degraded forage stands has been evaluated. 5 factors were allowed for in the study: weed control with Starane 250 herbicide before seeding, 2 sod seeding times (spring and summer), mineral fertilization (PK and NPK), diversified cutting frequency following seeding, and clover species (Trifolium repens L., Trifolium pratense L. and Trifolium hybridum L.). From the investigation performed is follows that N fertilization and sod seeding of Trifolium pratense L. significantly influences the yield. The remaining clover species and the pratotechnical treatments evaluated did not effect yielding of the sward
