The heavy timber house

In the present time, the Slovenian single-family house is mainly built of brick, it is thermally insulated by expanded polystyrene or by mineral wool and rendered. In recent years building with wood revived. Also in Slovenia, the range of building systems such as: wooden structure, wooden frame and wooden wall panels has been enhanced by the heavy timber house with ecological termal isolation. In the article the development of the heavy timber house has been presented, where building materials have mainly loadbearing function, as well as a contemporary house, built of wood by a Slovene producer. The house has been devised in accordance with the economic, visual, ecological and health values as well as the value of usefulness.
