Aridelus n. sp. A new parasitoid of Nezara viridula (L.) collected in Italy (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) [vegetable crops - Glycine max (L.) Merr. - Latium - Umbria - Sicily]

إنجليزي. A new parasitoid species of Aridelus (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) was recorded for the first time from the immature instars (third- to fifth- instar nymphs) and adults of Nezara viridula (L.) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) in Italy in 1998. This is also a new record in the Paleartic region. In the field, Aridelus n. sp. attacks Nezara at a parasitization rate of 4.3% in the region of Umbria, 21.7% in the region of Lazio and 12.5% in the region of Sicily. In laboratory studies, the period from egg deposition to adult emergence was about 45 days. Mature larva emerged on average (+- SD) 23.18 +- 2.77 days after the egg deposition, and the adult emerged from the cocoon in 22.27 +- 1.45 days. The adult had a mean longevity of 21.08 +- 8.18 days with a range from 6 to 43 days. The young instars are more suitable for the parasitoid development. The female is attracted by host movement which is then attacked either from the front or from behind. Aridelus n. sp. is a solitary parasitoid with a telytokous and sometimes deuterotokous parthenogenetic reproduction

Una nuova specie di Aridelus (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) e' stata ottenuta per la prima volta dalle forme giovanili (neanidi di III e ninfe di I e II eta') e dall'adulto di Nezara viridula (L.) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) nel 1998 in Italia, ma il reperto e' nuovo anche per la regione Paleartica. In campo, Aridelus n. sp. parassitizza Nezara al 4,3 % in Umbria, al 21,7 % nel Lazio e al 12,5% in Sicilia. In laboratorio lo sviluppo da uovo ad adulto avviene in circa 45 giorni di cui in media (+- DS) 23,18 +- 2,77 giorni da uovo a larva matura e 22,27 +- 1,45 giorni come pupa. La longevita' degli adulti e' in media di 21,08 +- 8,18 giorni, con un minimo di 6 ed un massimo di 43 giorni. Le forme giovanili dell'ospite sono le piu' idonee allo sviluppo del parassitoide. Le femmine dell'Euforino sono attratte dal movimento dell'ospite, il quale puo' essere attaccato frontalmente o dal lato posteriore. Aridelus n. sp. e' un parassitoide solitario e si riproduce per partenogenesi telitoca ed occasionalmente deuterotoca
