Productivity of maize inbred lines in dependence of nitrogen content in the subsoil

Productivity and some biological traits of 18 inbred lines of maize were evaluated under two levels of nitrogen content in the subsoil. Decreasing of N content in the subsoil generally leads to reducing of plant biomass, leaves area and chlorophyll content. More detailed analysis showed that genotypes with different response on this factor were between studied lines. The same lines had also bigger parameters of productivity of: leaf area, root volume and root dry matter. They may be a potential material for breding mazie hybrids
