A general approach for esca disease in the vineyards of Turkey [Vitis vinifera L.]

إنجليزي. Turkey has very suitable climatic conditions for viticulture and a total of 3.7 million tons of grapes are produced yearly on some of 560,000 ha. When compared with other diseases which negatively affect the quality and quantity of grape production, esca disease is not important. It has primarily occurred in the vineyards of Aegean and Marmara regions and in Southern and South-Eastern Anatolia. According to the data for these regions, the disease rate is very low. In a study on the Marmara region, the disease rate was determined to be 2.61%. In a study conducted in the Aegean region between 1997 and 1998, Stereum hirsutum, Phellinus sp., Phaeoacremonium aleophilum and P. chlamydosporum were isolated by decayed wood of esca-affected grapevines (Vitis vinifera L.). The last two species are reported in Turkey for the first time. Moreover, Eutypa lata and Phomopsis viticola were isolated from sectorial brown necrotic areas in the wood

[La Turchia e' caratterizzata da condizioni climatiche favorevoli alla coltivazione della vite; annualmente vengono prodotti 3,7 milioni di tonnellate di uva su circa 560.000 ha. In confronto ad altre malattie che producono effetti negativi, quantitativamente e qualitativamente, sulla produzione di uva, il mal dell'esca non riveste grande importanza. Si e' riscontrata soprattutto nei vigneti della regione Egea e della regione di Marmara e nell'Anatolia meridionale e sud-orientale. In base ai dati relativi a queste regioni, il livello della malattia e' molto basso. In uno studio condotto nella regione di Marmara si e' riscontrata un'incidenza della malattia pari al 2,61%. In uno studio effettuato nella regione Egea fra il 1997 e il 1998, dal legno in decomposizione di piante di vite affette da mal dell'esca sono stati isolati Stereum hirsutum, Phellinus sp., Phaeoacremonium aleophilum e P. chlamydosporum.
