Selected iron forms in soils of the mountain sycamore community (Phyllitido-Aceretum Moor 1952)
2001
Zwydak, M. (Agricultural Academy, Cracow (Poland). Dept. of Forest Soil Science)
The research presents the contents of selected iron forms in soil profiles and their relations to the basic soil features of the mountain sycamore community. The results show intensive processes of biochemical weathering in mineral horizons of the examined soils, and soil forming process is similar in profiles developed from sandstones and limestones. Total iron contents correlate positively with clay fraction contents. Dissolvable in 1 mol HCl/cubicdm iron is statistically correlated with the reaction, the basic cation content and with the level of bese saturation
