The effects of seeding rates and two sowing dates (5-7 and 22-24 September) were investigated in oilseed rape (Brassica napus L. emend. Metzg. var. napus) cultivars Hong, Silvia and Falcon on number of emerged plants and plants after winter, number of pods, grain and in seeds were performed in Maribor during three years field experiments. Cultivars, seeding rates and their interactions did not differed grain yield, except sowing dates. After seeding 40, 120 in 200 seeds per m**2 there were after winter 30, 81 and 122 plants per m**2 and affected non significant differences among grain yields (2,948, 3,056 and 2,976 t/ha), respectively. Seeds sowned 15-19 days after optimal sowing date decreased grain yield for 45 %.
