Benefits from using disease-resistant bees at apiaries

The research results indicate that the disease occurrence in bee colonies is related with a decrease in their biological quality and production efficiency. Selection and breeding of disease-resistance bees seem to be the easiest methods of improving the health state of honeybee colonies at apiaries. Breeding of selected bee strains allows to avoid costs connected with a high rate of colony mortality and ineffective prophylaxis
