إنجليزي. The first step to achieve long-term profitability in pork production is to ensure efficient breeding herd management. The factor that likely has the greatest impact on the variability in numbers of weaners produced is the breeding of an appropriate number of females each week. The ability to consistently achieve the breeding target is in large part controlled by gilt management. The purpose of this paper has been to describe the most recent knowledge on gilt management

Viene anche discusso quale sia il calore da utilizzare (primo, secondo, ...) in rapporto alle dimensioni della futura nidiata e della longevita' riproduttiva degli animali
