إنجليزي. A contribution for classical biological control against Metcalfa pruinosa (Say) in Italy is described. The work of Girolami that introduced Neodryinus typhlocybae (Ashmead) in the Country was the premise for the project. Furthermore, a mass rearing technique had to be developed to make it possible to obtain an high number of parasitoids for the distribution programmes in co-operation with different local public administrations. An overall release of more than six hundred introduction points distributed in eleven Italian regions has been carried out. Some release areas were developed as natural multiplication points in which everything was prepared to make easier the collection and redistribution of the dryinid wasp cocoons. The evidence that a good control of the pest was achieved in the older areas of introduction is an indication that it is necessary continue with further introductions in the areas in which the parasitoid still is not present

La messa a punto di un allevamento massale del driinide ha costituito il primo passo per la realizzazione di una serie di programmi di distribuzione sul territorio nazionale, effettuati in collaborazione con numerose amministrazioni pubbliche locali. Oltre seicento introduzioni sono state effettuate nel complesso in undici regioni italiane. Alcune aree di moltiplicazione naturale del driinide sono state allestite per agevolare la raccolta e la distribuzione locale del driinide. L'osservazione delle aree di lancio fa ritenere il controllo della metcalfa efficace, per cui viene auspicato il proseguimento della distribuzione territoriale del suo nemico naturale
