Identification of RAPD marker associated with columnar growth habit of apple [Malus pumila Mill.]

إنجليزي. The columnar growth habit of apple trees is a trait controlled by a single dominant gene, Co, found in the heterozygote state (Co co) in the cv Wijcik. Its segregation in the progeny of cv Wijcik and selection SA572/2, along with minor genes that modulate the traits expression, corroborates its monogenic control. Bulk Segregant Analysis (BSA) was applied to the same progeny and yielded a RAPD marker, BC464 sub (1510), associated with the Co locus, having a recombinant frequency of 16.6%. This marker can be used in breeding programmes for early selecting of the columnar habit, which is usually detectable with certainty much later, in nursery

إيطالي. [L'habitus colonnare delle piante di melo e' un carattere controllato da un singolo gene dominante, Co, identificato allo strato eterozigote (Co co) nella cv Wijcik. La sua segregazione nella progenie della cv Wijcik e nella selezione SA572/2, unitamente a geni secondari che modulano l'espressione del carattere, avvalora l'ipotesi del suo controllo monogenico.
