Plants spontaneous alternative host of beneficent insects on an alfalfa crop | Plantas espontáneas hospederas alternativas de insectos beneficiosos en un cultivo de alfalfa

إنجليزي. Damages caused by pests can decrease indirectly by the presence of weeds that support the plagues of the crop; and in consequence they can live in expense of them their natural enemies. This work wants sought to be proven if the surrounding spontaneous vegetation and inserted in the medic cultivation, has some influence on the predators and parasitoids of the plagues keys and to demonstrate if their presence can be beneficial for the natural control of the insects. A field of 2 ha belonging to the Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias of Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Esperanza (Santa Fe, Argentina) was used, in which an alfalfa crop was implanted in 1998. During the 1999-year weekly samplings of the plants spontaneous present in the crop were carried out to determinate the presence or not of beneficial insects of Diptera, Coleoptera and Hymenoptera in them. At the beginning of the 2000-year, those overgrowths that registered bigger populations of efficient natural enemies for the regulation of the insects plagues that could be considered as appropriate to carry out a biological control of the same ones were select, although others abundant plants were incorporated. In 2000 and 2001 the beneficent insects only located on preestablished overgrowths were counted. Cardus sp. stands out for the great quantity of beneficial insects present, they are sustained by abundant aphid populations. These populations increased considerably during the months of October and November of 2000, and June, July and August of 2001, allowing the survival of species of great importance in biological control.

Los daños ocasionados por plagas pueden verse disminuidos indirectamente por la presencia de malezas que soporten dichas plagas y, como consecuencia, que puedan vivir a expensas de ellas sus enemigos naturales. Este trabajo pretende conocer la vegetación espontánea que puede soportar insectos beneficiosos en un cultivo de alfalfa, y conocer cuáles son los depredadores y parasitoides de plagas claves cuya presencia puede ser beneficiosa para el control natural de las mismas. Se utilizó un campo de 2 ha perteneciente a la Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias de Esperanza (Santa Fe, Argentina), en el que se había implantado alfalfa en 1998. Durante 1999 se realizaron muestreos semanales de las plantas espontáneas presentes en el cultivo a efectos de determinar en cuáles de ellas se registraba la presencia de insectos beneficiosos de los órdenes Diptera, Coleoptera e Hymenoptera. A comienzos de 2000 se seleccionaron aquéllas malezas que registraron mayores poblaciones de enemigos naturales eficientes para la regulación de las plagas, que se consideraban como adecuadas para realizar un control biológico de las mismas. En el año 2000 y 2001 se contaron los insectos beneficiosos localizados únicamente sobre las malezas preestablecidas. Se destaca Cardus sp. por la gran cantidad de insectos beneficiosos presentes, sustentados por abundantes poblaciones de pulgones. Estas poblaciones aumentaron considerablemente durante los meses de octubre y noviembre de 2000, y junio, julio y agosto de 2001, permitiendo la supervivencia de especies de gran importancia en control biológico.
