Tall wheatgrass [Agropyron elongatum (Host) P. Beauv. (Syn. Elymus elongatus; Thinopyrum ponticum)] that grown readily in arid and semi-arid regions, used in erosion prevention, grow naturally in our country is an excellent forage crop. Szarvasi-I variety has got importance about supplied forage when tall wheatgrass varieties harden owing to having less cellulose than other tall wheatgrass types. To obtain economic yield in field or pastureland is required that the nutrients needed by plants give again to the soil by fertilization due to removals high amount of nitrogen from the land by large habitus plants like tall wheatgrass. For this reason, this study was applied to ammonium sulfate fertilizer at different dosages (Control, 40, 80, 120, and 160 kg N ha-1 ) in Konya Soil, Water, and Deserting Control Research Institute, Karapınar on the period of rainfall by following meteorological data. The research was carried out to investigate the effect on forage and seed yield and their components and protein ratio of Szarvasi-I type of different ammonium sulfate applications. This search continued during 2018, and 2019 was investigated to spike plant height, plant height without a spike, stem diameter, green fodder yield, dry grass yield, thousand seed weight, number of the spike stem, seed yield, protein ration and protein yield. In research, dry grass yield was a matter of 30% and 58% increase at 120 kg N ha-1 and 160 kg N ha-1 respectively, when applied different dosage ammonium sulfate. In the result of the study, 6.47% highest protein ratio was obtained from 160 kg N ha-1 ammonium sulfate dose. In research, the highest dry grass yield (i.e., 1873.91 kg ha-1 ), seed yield (i.e., 477.49 kg ha-1 ), and protein ratio (i.e., 6.47%) of Szarvasi-I tall wheatgrass variety were obtained from 160 kg N ha-1 dose because of poor soil of the Karapınar region.
