El agua potable o agua para consumo humano se define como aquella que posee características físicas, químicas y microbiológicas aptas para consumo humano, dicho en otras palabras, es aquella que al ser consumida por el ser humano no altera su estado de su salud; para que un volumen de agua sea potable debe ser sometida a un riguroso tratamiento denominado potabilización, y este proceso depende y variara según las características iniciales del agua y cuáles son las características y concentraciones de sustancias que esta debe poseer según la normatividad vigente. En Colombia, existen diferentes normas que aplican al sector de agua potable, que dictan desde las características de las estructuras donde se trata el agua, hasta los parámetros y valores que se debe cumplir en cada uno de ellos; es por esto, que mediante el desarrollo de un diagnóstico general de operación a la planta de tratamiento de agua potable (PTAP) San Francisco de Asís, ubicada en el municipio de Calamar, en el departamento del Guaviare, se pretende evidenciar el estado actual de la planta y procesos aplicados en el lugar, además, teniendo en cuenta lo exigido en la normatividad colombiana, como es el caso de la resolución 2115 de 2007, se realizaran seguimientos y análisis al agua procesada para evaluar si esta planta cumple o no con los lineamientos establecidos en los instrumentos evaluativos para garantizar la calidad del agua, como lo son el IRCA (Índice de Riesgo de Calidad del Agua) y el IRABAm (Índice de Riesgo Municipal por Abastecimiento de Agua), los cuales mediante puntajes numéricos nos dan como resultado si la planta presenta o no un riesgo a la salud humana teniendo en cuenta las características del agua, algunas características de la planta y la continuidad del servicio. Por último, realizado el diagnóstico y análisis general de la planta, se presentarán dichos resultados a la unidad de servicios junto con algunas soluciones propuestas a las diferentes deficiencias y/o falencias en la planta, con el objetivo de mejor la calidad del servicio y optimizar la operación de la planta en general.

In Colombia, there are different standards that apply to the drinking water sector, which dictate from the characteristics of the structures where the water is treated, to the parameters and values that must be met in each of them; This is why, through the development of a general diagnosis of the operation of the San Francisco de Asís drinking water treatment plant (PTAP), located in the municipality of Calamar, in the department of Guaviare, it is intended to demonstrate the current state of the plant and processes applied in the place, in addition, taking into account what is required in Colombian regulations, as is the case of resolution 2115 of 2007, monitoring and analysis of the processed water will be carried out to assess whether or not this plant complies with the guidelines established in the evaluation instruments to guarantee water quality, such as the IRCA (Water Quality Risk Index) and the IRABAm (Municipal Risk Index for Water Supply), which through numerical scores give us as a result whether or not the plant presents a risk to human health taking into account the characteristics of the water, some characteristics of the plant and the continuity of the service. Finally, once the diagnosis and general analysis of the plant has been carried out, these results will be presented to the service unit together with some proposed solutions to the different deficiencies and/or shortcomings in the plant, with the aim of improving the quality of the service and optimizing the operation of the plant in general.
