The definition of the concept of pH and the theoretical and practical aspects of its evaluation are given. The material and technical base necessary for its accurate assessment is shown. The potentiometric method is the most accurate, objective method for determining the hydrogen index - pH, therefore, if appropriate technical means are available, this method is preferred. A method for determining soil pH using a potentiometric instrument and the corresponding system is discussed. The main link of the system is the measuring device, for which the pH100 device was chosen, which makes it possible to carry out work even in the field. Fig. 2, Ref. 6.
