Influencia de enmiendas orgánicas y un hongo endomicorrícico sobre el nemátodo Radopholus similis, en banano Musa (AAA)

En el presente estudio se evaluó el efecto de enmiendas orgánicas y la micorriza arbuscular (MA) Glomus sp. sobre el ataque del nemátodo Radopholus similis en plantas de banano. La investigación estuvo conformada por dos experimentos, uno bajo condiciones de invernadero con plantas de banano cv.'Gran Enano' Musa (AAA), en el que se evaluó el efecto de las enmiendas orgánicas compost y ácido húmico, con y sin la adición de la micorriza Glomus sp. En el segundo experimento se estudió el efecto de tres tipos de enmiendas orgánicas, el compost, gallinaza y bokashi, en presencia y ausencia de la micorriza Glomus sp. para el control de la población y daño ocasionado por Radopholus similis; este experimento se llevó a cabo en una plantación comercial del Trópico Húmedo de la Zona Atlántica de Costa Rica, con plantas de banano cv. 'Valery' Musa (AAA), durante un año de experimentación. En el experimento de invernadero se utilizaron vitroplantas del cv. 'Gran Enano' sembradas en macetas que contenían sustratos de enmiendas de compost y ácido húmico en diferentes tratamientos. Se inició una primera etapa de aclimatación de las vitroplantas durante 21 días, luego se aplicó 4 gramos de inóculo de la (MA) Glomus sp. y se permitió la micorrización por un período de 70 días, en el día 91 se infestó todos los tratamientos con 1000 30 Radopholus similis por planta. Finalmente se cosecharon las plantas 210 días después de la siembra y se evaluó el ataque del nemátodo al sistema radical así como algunas variables biométricas de crecimiento. Al final del experimento se encontró que las plantas sembradas en la enmienda orgánica con mayor nivel nutricional como lo fue el compost, toleraron mejor el ataque de R. similis que las plantas con tratamientos ácido húmico y el control. El experimento en condiciones de campo se llevó a cabo en una plantación comercial de banano cv. 'Valery' Musa (AAA), establecida en la Región Tropical Húmeda de la Zona Atlántica de Costa Rica. Se evaluó el efecto de 21.6 toneladas/hectárea/año de tres enmiendas orgánicas, compost, gallinaza y bokashi, en combinación con la micorriza arbuscular Glomus sp. a razón de 10 gramos de inóculo/planta/mes; para controlar la población y el daño ocasionado por Radopholus similis al sistema radical de las plantas de banano durante 12 meses de experimentación. La influencia de la población de R. similis en el sistema radical de las plantas en todos los tratamientos fue evaluado mensualmente, junto con las variables de peso de raíz funcional y porcentaje de raíz muerta. Se realizaron 12 análisis de varianza, uno por mes y se encontró que existieron diferencias significativas entre los tratamientos para los meses 6 (p=0.0008), 9 (p=0.0228) y 12 (0.0001) en cuanto a la población de R. similis/100 gramos de raíz. Sin embargo no se encontraron diferencias significativas entre tratamientos, al analizar las variables peso de raíz funcional y porcentaje de raíz muerta durente los 12 primeros meses de este estudio. En los últimos cuatro meses del experimento se evaluaron las variables de crecimiento y producción como son el número de manos y peso del racimo, circunferencia de la planta madre a la cosecha y altura del hijo a la cosecha. En este lapso de tiempo, no se encontraron efectos significativos para los factores enmiendas orgánicas, micorriza ni la interacción entre ambos. Esto obedeció al corto tiempo de experimentación, lo cual no permitió observar los efectos que hubiesen tenido esos factores a largo plazo.

This research evaluated the effect of organic amendments and arbuscular mycorrhizal (MA) Glomus sp. under attack of the nematode Radopholus similis in banana plants. The investigation was conformed by two experiments, one under greenhouse conditions with micropropagated cv. 'Grand Naine' banana (Musa AAA), in which the effect of the amendments of organic compost and humic acid was evaluated, with and without the addition of the arbucular mycorrhizal Glomus sp. In the second experiment, the effect of three types of organic amendments, compost, poultry manure and bokashi were studied in presence and absence of the arbuscular mycorrhizal Glomus sp. for population's control and damage caused by Radopholus similis; this experiment was carried out in a commercial plantation of the Humid Tropic of the Atlantic Region of Costa Rica, with cv. 'Valery' banana (Musa AAA), during a year of research. In the greenhouse experiment, micropropagated 'Grand Naine' banana were planted in gavels that contained compost amendment and humic acid with different treatments. The first stage was the invitroplants adaptation to greenhouse environment that lasted 21 days. Then, it was applied 4 grams/plant of inoculum of (MA) Glomus sp. and the its mycorrhizal colonization on the root system, was allowed by a period of 70 days. In the 91 day, all the treatments were infested with 1000 30 Radopholus similis per plant. Finally, 210 days later the plantas were harvested. The nematode attack was evaluated at the root system. Furthermore some biometric variable of growth were evaluated. At the end of the experiment it was found that the plants sowed in the organic amendment with high nutritional level as the once with compost, they tolerated better the attack of R. similis than the plants under humic acid treatments and the witness. The experiment under field conditions was carried out in a commercial plantation of 'Valery' banana (Musa AAA), settled down in the Humid Tropical Region of Costa Rica. The effect of 21.6 Ton/Hectar/year of three organic amendments, compost, poultry manure and bokashi, were evaluated in combination with the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus Glomus sp. a ratio of 10 grams of inoculum/plant/month; to control the population and the damage caused by Radopholus similis to the banana root system during 12 months that lasted the experiment. The influence of R. similis population on the root system for all treatments was monthly evaluated, alone with the variables of functional root weigh and percentage of dead root. Twelve (12) analysis of variance were done, one per month. From them, it was found that population of R. similis/100 grams of root, had significant difference among treatments at the 6th (p=0.0008), 9th (p=0.0228) and 12 th (0.0001) months. However there were not significant differences among treatments when the functional root weight and percentage of dead root variables were analysed during the 12 months of this research. Variables of growth and production such as quantity of hands per bounch, bounch weight, mother's circunference and follower's height, both measured at harvest time, were evaluated weekly during the last four months of the experiment. No significant difference was found for the organic amendments factor, mycorrhizal fungi factor or their interactions. This obeyed to the short time of experimentation which didn't allow to observe the effects that those factors may have in the long run.
