Abstract: A cookbook presents over 500 salt-free recipes for people who need or desire to reduce sodium intake (and its associated cardiovascular risk). A substantial number of tips are included, concerning food selection, cooking, seasoning, and "do's" and don'ts", as well as information on the sodium content of bottled and public water supplies in US cities. The recipes range from soups, breads, salads, and entrees to vegetables, sauces, and desserts. Guidance information covers development and maintenance of a low-sodium diet, a 3-week diet plan, and lists of low-sodium-food manufacturers and products. (wz)
