Input-output analysis as a tool for regional development planning
1976
Loehman, Edna T. | McElroy, Robert
This report describes input output analysis as a tool to aid regional planners. the technique can be used to estimate economic, social, and environmental effects of development in a region. by illustrating the usefulness of this technique, it is hoped that more planners will want to develop input output analyses for their areas. multipliers are used to analyze the impacts of two types of development (population growth and industrial expansion) in the areas ofeconomic, social, and environmental effects. Lee County is used as a case study. a computer program is available from the University of Florida to calculate multipliers.
