Knowledge and Adoption Behavior of Recommended Cultivation Practices by the Onion Growers

The study was undertaken during in the selected two taluks viz., Basavan Bagewadi and Navalgund of Bijapur and Dharwad districts respectively of Karnataka state. reveals that, 43.75 per cent of the respondents had medium level of knowledge, whereas 35.00 per cent and 21.25 per cent of respondents had high and low knowledge respectively. The variables such as age, education, land holding, farming experience, achievement motivation and scientific orientation showed significant relationship with knowledge level of onion farmers at 0.01 level of probability. Whereas extension participation, mass media participation, risk orientation, decision making ability and cosmopoliteness did not establish any significant relationship with the knowledge level of onion growers
