The present study was undertaken to conduct the process evaluation of the vegetable Integrated Pest Management Farmers Field School (IPM FFS) programme implemented in the sub-tropical areas of Jammu region. Four FFS were selected for the study. The study concludes that the week wise activities were not followed by the trainers in implementing the IPM-FFS programme. Moreover, the trainers did not follow a 14 week schedule and activities as per the guidelines. Against norm of 30 participants per FFS, which amounts to 120 for 4 FFS, only 44 farmers participated actively in FFS programmes conducted in 2008–09 and 2009–10. The IPM farmers were highly satisfied with the behaviour of the trainers and least satisfied with the theory/practical ratio of the training programme. Overall, 13 per cent farmers were completely satisfied, 57 per cent were partially satisfied and 30 percent were unsatisfied with the IPM-FFS programme.
