When you drink, your unborn baby does, too
1978
Gause, Ralph
According to a March of Dimes pamphlet on alcohol and pregnancy, research indicates that women who drink heavily during pregnancy run an increased risk of having children with birth defects. Symptoms of the fetal alcohol syndrome include growth deficiency, mental deficiency, heart defects, and certain facial features. Babies of teenagers who drink are in double jeopardy. This tragedy does not have to happen because birth defects caused by excessive use of alcohol can be prevented.
